I've decided that for the time that Bob is in Morocco there will be no more thrifting. She laughed when I told her and said I won't be able to do it but if I can give up chocolate for lent then I can give up thrifting for 8 (now 7) weeks, wee buns (easy)
Last Saturday the big lad, myself Bob and sister Cric headed to Poulty fair. Half way around the boot sale and I still hadn't parted with any of my cash, I'd like to say I came home empty handed but once I'd bought my first item I was onto a roll, the flood gates opened and we were soon all walking round carrying bags of stuff that I'd bought. Here's what I came home with, it's all very brown!
Biscuit jar and tea jar, the biscuit jar had lost it's lid so instead it's being used to hold the kitchen utensils |
To prove just how much will power I can have, yesterday out with my sister for a cycle, we passed a car boot sale and didn't stop, we did go into a charity shop later on in the day but I bought nothing.I can do it, I can do it! New mantra NO More Thrifting....
When Bob gets home I'll go thrifting CRAZY!!
Have you found anything cool this week?

Hi Linda, Loving all the brown. Who needs a designated hoard of biscuits anyway, works much better as a utensil holder.
ReplyDeleteYour 'flowers in coffee pot' idea is going down a storm on my recent post. Looks like there'll be a run on coffee pots. I would find it very hard to abstain from thrifting at the moment. Good luck with it!!
I've my biscuit tash in another jar, I can't seem to have a cup of tea or coffee now without having something to dunk in it. Don't know how I'm going to cope with this, got a half day at work and I'm itching...Ahhh!!
DeleteGlad the coffee pot trend is taking off xx
Oh, I'm not sure I could stop charity shopping for eight weeks!! Love all the autumnal colours.

Ahhh! Don't say that! I need support!!
DeleteI'm a sucker for a globe, too! Well done on resisting the urge to buy. It's so miserable here I think I may have to sneak off to the chazzas later to cheer myself up! x
ReplyDeleteIt's my first globe, the only one I've ever seen in the charity shops since my thrifting days began. I laughed when you said about sneaking off to the chazzas, a good hoke cheers me up no end too, the weather is crap here today! x
DeleteI have those brown jar things! Two. Tea and coffee. Would you like them? Cos they're just gathering dust in the roof space.
ReplyDeleteKeep them for when you have your own house, you'll need something to put your tea and coffee in xx
