DIY Rainbow Headband

Hello!
A couple of weeks ago we had a heat wave, I was feeling all summery, sitting in the garden surrounded by daisies, I made a little daisy chain crown and got inspired for some summer outdoor crafting. I gathered up my a rainbow array of felts, a bit of elastic (enough to fit round my head) and made myself a rainbow headband. With festival season getting underway this would be perfect for keeping unwashed festival hair looking sweet!

I sewed the leaves on very slowly using my sewing machine, slightly overlapping each one, then I joined the two ends of the elastic by sewing them together. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
Here's a photo of me keeping my unwashed festival hair under wraps, just a young pup, Glasto 2000
This weekend I'm having a break from the market, getting crafty in the bedroom, enjoying the comfort of a new bike seat, tidying messed up rugs......

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend! xx

Tag 13

Hello!
NEW VINTAGE SHOP IN BELFAST ALERT!!
I love to see new vintage shops opening up in Belfast *jumps up and down* Tag 13 has opened up in Church Lane, where Stray jewellery used to be. Stray was a great little independent jewellery shop, you can find them now on their new stall at St Georges Market. The day I popped into Tag 13, it was all a bit of a rush, heading to the airport to catch a flight and there I am swooning over and trying on vintage dresses, then leave myself in a total panic to get there on time! Vintage waits for no man (or woman)
Tag 13 had LOADS of lovely things, if I was not a. trying to save and b. rushing for a flight, the damage to my wallet might have been far worse....

I love the colour, shape, the way the hems ruffle and sleeve button detail......

MORE VINTAGE SHOPS PLEASE BELFAST!!

For me it's been a weekend of market doing, hair dying, beach walking and cinema going....
Hope your all having a great weekend! xx

In her shoes

Hello!
An impromptu afternoon off work, glorious sunshine and a fruitfull trip to the charity shops, you could not beat it!

Two pairs of shoes, 1980's-tastic, a little display cabinet, an autumn leaf planter to match my vase, a cute fauna vase and two glass dogs, the little one is so small! It's been ages since I've been on a charity shop mooch, saturdays are now market days, it's probably for the best!!

Hope you're all having a great week!

I've got a bike, you can ride it if you like.....

Hello!
Gumtree came up trumps a couple of weeks ago, I've been on the look out for bike and a house just around the corner from ours was selling a 1980's sprick bicycle. I took it for a test drive up the street and it was meant to be, my feet could just touch the ground. Although the gears were tricky and the brakes not up to scratch I took a punt and cycled it home for less than the asking price so I was chuffed. My bike (in the words od Syd Barrett) "It's got a basket, a bell that rings and things to make it look good"..... It's spent the last twenty odd years in a shed so I took it to a bike shop and they worked some magic on it, 3 working gears, fixed brakes and a new tyre, now it rides like a dream! My only gripe the plastic seat, which nearly broke my bum!
I've love to give my bike a new look, check out this vintage bike makeover and Kayla's amazing bike makeover Inspired!!
I'm looking forward to summer of cycles and picnics!

The Tidy Corner

Hello,
It's back to typical summer weather here...rain.... *moans* The weather was so good last weekend that after the market on saturday I just piled everything in the craft room and closed the door. It was all getting a bit untidy and there's nothing worse for my creativity juices flowing than a messy space so tonight after work I came home to sort it out. My tidying process is usually to turn the place upside down and start again, I clear everything out first, clean and then do my thing.....This is an awkward corner of my craft room, it's a bit of a dumping area for things that we don't really need, but don't want to get rid of, desperately in need of a mini makeover!
I had two spare shelves after my failed attempt to attach shelves to a wall and ended up with this. My craft room (entire house) constantly evolves!
I chopped a bit of the end of the shelves, banged in some heavy duty nails as brackets and decorated the wall behind with some of Flo's fabrics.

One very tidy corner, and the rest of upstairs a complete mess, I'll save the tidying up for tomorrow, it's Mad Men time now!

Ryan Gosling, you've hit the nail on the head! Now to tidy the rest of the house....

Hope you're all having a great week x

Blogger meets Blogger

Hello!
I had the pleasure of meeting a fab blog friend this week in REAL LIFE! Astra from A Journey to a dream emailed me for some market advice and suggested we meet up. Nervous and excited I walked into town to meet up.....I've been following her blog for a while now, so although we've never met it's kinda like we know eachother a bit already! I met Astra, her husband Al, their gorgeous wee man Che Phoenix and their lovely artist friend Helena who makes kaleidoscopes! We went for a drink and a dander around The Belfast Photo Festival It was so much fun meeting up, Astra is exactly like her blog self, a smiley, inspiring, positive person, who is loving motherhood, the good life, and living in Northern Ireland.

Astra and Al are setting up a little business, The Itty Bitty Book Company their beautiful little handmade books are full of postivity, as a gift I recieved the itty bitty BOOK OF STRENGTH and I love it! I can't decide on my favourite quote from the book, maybe "life is not about how many breaths you take, it's about the moments that take your breath away" or "Be strong you never know who you're inspiring"
Astra's positivity is definitely catching! I went home with a big smile on my face :)

Have a lovely weekend everyone! x

Thanks for the Inspiration

Hello!
Reading blogs never fails to motivate and inspire me, whether it's fashion, food, home decoration, craft, blogs are full of wonderful people and their wonderful ideas. This week I was inspired by The Pampered Sparrow post, Brilliant! I love this little makeover, so colourful and the perfect home for little treasures. I have a shelf I've been using on my stall, I picked it up for a fiver in Nik Naks a while back, painted black when I got it I'd since painted it white.

On the stall

My latest addition to deer collection, half a book end, VERY useful!

I love the finished shelf, can't wait to see how it looks on the stall.

Thank you Pampered Sparrow for the inspiration! Thank you bloggers EVERYWHERE!!

Hope you're all having a great weekend xx
