Found Wildflowers

Hello
Sometimes it nice to get off the path and see what else is round the corner. Cycling last weekend along a path I decided to go off the track and I found a little patch of wild flowers. Currently I'm back in the sadle as I have my sisters bike on loan, she's off on her travels and it's so nice to be out cycling again. The thirty year old bike I bought from gumtree with one working gear wasn't quite cutting it but I will definately buy a bike soon.
And here's one of my favourite photos of my mum taken in the late 60s, looking beautiful in some roadside wildflowers.
Hope you're all having a lovely week x

Say what you want to say

Hello!
The joys of being able to blog on the go, after a lovely cycle, as I write this I'm sitting outside a cafe in the sun having morning coffee. Simply blogging is double the fun now, I used to spend hours putting photos onto our laptop, partly because of my dinosaur computer skills and the laptop being ready for the bin. Anyway I'm going off the subject! Just wanted to share some of the banners I've been making! All you fabric lovers out there will know what I mean when I say "right I'm not buying any more fabric" only to walk into a vintage shop or charity shop and fall in love with a print! That's me! So for as long as I'm addicted to buying fabric I will keep on sewing!
Have a lovely weekend everyone! Thanks for reading xx

Dolls house hallway

Hello!
In an effort to get outside more progress on the dollshouse has slowed, although summer in Northern Ireland means rain so I'll probably be back making before you know it! After the living room I started on the hallway. Here's how it's looking, oh and I got a cat! Tuxedo as named by an Instagram friend, Tux for short.
The kitchen will be next! Colour suggestions welcome!
Hope you're all having a good week

Miami Mint

Hello,
On the blog today the spare bedroom getting a makeover with a lick of paint. This room has always been white, white is clean, white is safe, white is easy to clean, who doesn't have a tin of white paint lying around to touch up marks? White is great, I love white, but I had an urge and you know what happens when you get the urge, well for me until the job is done I can't stop thinking about it! The perfect shade was Miami Mint and I love how the room turned out, it might just be a little bit harder to get it back to white the next time I have one of my urges!

Have you been acting on any urges recently?
Hope you're all having a good week x

Weekend love

Hello!
This weekend I've been enjoying hanging out with the cats, making new clothes for Pippa, day tripping with the big lad,  coastal walks, picking beachy wildflowers, lunch in my favourite harbour town cafe, charity shop mooches, picking strawberries from the garden, watching Game of Thrones and the best thing about this weekend, there's a whole week off work ahead!

I picked up a couple of things in the charity shops, these gorgeous glass deer, a new friend for Pippa and from the £1 sale rail a new shirt and jumper!
I lasted about half an hour in the same room as the wild flowers then they sadly had to go, Hay fever sucks!!!
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

The mini bar

Hello,
Since my last blog update I've been working a little more on my dollshouse project. For the living room I've made a trolley style mini bar complete with kitsch flamingo and swizzle sticks.
Most of the bar items I bought in the local craft shop which has a great dolls house section, the mini glasses are so tiny! I've nearly lost them a couple of times!!
To make the bar I cut out two oval shapes from a cardboard box, pierced a hole in each corner, covered the cardboard in sticky back lining stuff that I bought in the decorating shop, four cocktail sticks coloured in with black marker for the legs, push those through the holes, glue in position, then to finish off I made a rim for the bar by folding the sticky lining and glued it on, oh and four tiny beads to cover the tops of the cocktail sticks!
The mess that is my creative space! One day it's tidy the next day it's a mess! A bit like my head! Just to give a idea of the size here's the set up on my table, the bar is only a few inches tall.
Cute Mollie Makes paper makes the perfect back drop and everything is better with a garland!
I made the lemons and limes and the bowl, all from plasticine, the bowl I painted with some nail polish to give it a glossy finish.
The swizzle sticks are pins with the sharp end cut off. The glass pineapple was a charity shop find a couple of years ago and the mini flamingo I bought in Amsterdam.

Tux likes it! Hope you're all having a great weekend x
