Now I don't know much about cars but I do know this...they sure don't make them like they used to! Driving through Dungiven today, I had to stop and take some pics of these vintage cars....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! I can imagine me and the big lad cruising around Belfast in one of these listening to the 13th Floor Elevators...well a girl can dream.

Green, yellow, red....YEAH!! the first of my tomatoes are ripening! can't wait to eat them! I'm blaming the weather and lack of a greenhouse for their size, they're SO small! After one salad they'll all be eaten. I'm putting a greenhouse on the garden wish list.

Decided to be daring and cover a wall in our living room with images from 50's and 60's film posters. I've had these images since our last house where they were bluetacked onto the fireplace wall but i wanted to do something different with them, this time it's a bit more permanent (stuck on with pva glue) so hopefully we won't get bored of this look too soon. The finished wall makes the room feel much cosier and adds lots of colour so i'm happy with that : )
The naked wall, too white, too bare......
The feature wall. Film posters from the 50's and 60's. Rip it up goes large!
Next thing on the list is to actually watch some of these films, Attack of the 50ft Woman sounds like a good one to start with.

Blackberry picking today at Helen's Bay. Free fruit what more could you ask for?
Late August, given heavy rain and sun For a full week, the blackberries would ripen. At first, just one, a glossy purple clot Among others, red, green, hard as a knot. You ate that first one and its flesh was sweet Like thickened wine: summer's blood was in it Leaving stains upon the tongue and lust for Picking. Then red ones inked up and that hunger Sent us out with milk cans, pea tins, jam-pots Where briars scratched and wet grass bleached our boots. Round hayfields, cornfields and potato-drills We trekked and picked until the cans were full, Until the tinkling bottom had been covered With green ones, and on top big dark blobs burned Like a plate of eyes. Our hands were peppered With thorn pricks, our palms sticky as Bluebeard's. We hoarded the fresh berries in the byre. But when the bath was filled we found a fur, A rat-grey fungus, glutting on our cache. The juice was stinking too. Once off the bush The fruit fermented, the sweet flesh would turn sour. I always felt like crying. It wasn't fair That all the lovely canfuls smelt of rot. Each year I hoped they'd keep, knew they would not.

Fresh from the veg patch! However a bit more practice is needed where carrot growing is concerned. The seedlings were planted too close together and as a result they've grown twisted and a bit on the stumpy side, but hey, it's the taste that matters. Any advice on carrot growing very welcome!
ATTACK OF THE MUTANT CARROTS!
They taste great though!

Spare bedroom, using a folded up duvet to make a back rest, cover the lot with a throw and add some cushions. Bed to sofa.
Same bed, different day. The throw is from John Lewis and the crochet blanket was made by mum. Wee Ted can be found snuggled up in the cushions.
