The Gruesome Twosome

Hello!
Some people who live with cats say their pets leave them "presents" I came home to find Phil had done a dump on the bathroom floor and Mary had puked on the bedroom floor, dirt birds. Take note Phil and Mary I was thinking something more along the lines of a weekend away or a massage next time you're giving me a present

I did get some really nice presents too this week, a surprise package in the post from Oooh Betty I can't wait to show you what Emma sent me! Thank you so much Emma!
Hope you're all having a great week xxx

A smashing weekend

Hello!
Phil went mad chasing after a fly, did a ninja jump to the mantle piece and smashed one of my Autumn vases, naughty boy! All is not lost as it's been saved for the (I'll get round to it one of these days) fixing of the kitchen tiles. When one piece of vintage gets broken a door opens for a new piece of vintage (new moto) and so the mantle piece has two new additions, we stopped at a boot sale on the way home from our friends wedding and came home with a pair of cats (can't resist), some bowls for smashing (sorry vintage crockery lovers!) and a little picture of a praying girl and her kitten....
Another one bites the dust

Our hallway, it's been so long since I've painted, a new family portrait is on my to do list after the kitchen tiles are sorted
Please forgive me for smashing vintage plates

All the girls were preening today, Betty and Beryl had a Sunday bath in the vegetable patch and I had a short back and sides a la sister Bob, I was worried she would do a Sinead O'Connor on me as pay back for all the times I cut her hair badly, but she did a good job.

If Mary did Halloween

If Mary did Halloween she'd take inspiration from the L.A. WITCH album cover
..........But cats don't dress up at Halloween, silly

Batten down the hatches

Hello,

We got totally soaked on a walk up Black mountain today, we called it quits half way up after the rain and wind started pelting down of course by the time we reached the car park the clouds had parted and the sun was beginning to shine. Drenched, we drove back home and settled in for a quiet afternoon of pumpkin carving and leaf brooch making.

Inspiration for a felt leaf brooch, last weekends car boot find, another one for the collection!

Hope you're having a warm weekend xx

This is the way we Make and Bake TRIFLE!

Hello!

Last weekend my sister invited us over for dinner, I said we'd bring dessert. I've been waiting for the opportunity to try out a recipe from the This is the way we Make and Bake book I bought in a charity shop for 40p. "This is the way we make and bake will help mothers to occupy their children in the kitchen in perfect safety. It has a host of mouth-watering recipes, especially chosen for their appeal to children as finished dishes, and for lots of activities to keep little fingers occupied" (Phil and Mary didn't help me make this)

Served with a generous squirt of squirty cream. The trifle went down a treat! It was ridiculously sweet and I loved it!! My sister had three bowls, her boyfriend is allergic so all the more for us, I had two bowls and the big lad was the only one that showed any control and one bowl.

Have a great weekend everyone! x

Today

Today I....

started the day with porridge, raisins, cinnamon and honey
popped some flowers in Autumnal vases

tried to drink more water

got the goods in for a very 70s trifle
posted some handmade elephants to Ooh Betty

started a little wedding gift for friends who are getting married very soon
added some new cushions to my Etsy shop
had a quick mooch in the charity shops and after nearly getting reversed over found these rain visors and what my loo has been waiting for....

raked up the leaves in the garden with no help from Beryl
Hope you had a lovely Saturday x
