Oh My! Sunshine and Daffodils

Hello!
Hope you've had a good weekend, I'm mourning the end of The Sopranos so to cheer the place up I'm filling it with daffodils......ahhhchoo

When The Pampered Sparrow posted about this label maker last week, I treated myself to one. My dad had one of these and we used to use it to label our cassettes, I loved it! I bought the neon tape and put it use straight away!

At the market this weekend the cutest little girl came over to our stall, straight away she picked up a yellow owl I had made, as her mum paid for the owl, the little girl put the owl to her ear, I asked was she listening for the twit twoo? her mum she no, she's listening for it to tell her it's name. So I asked her "what is the owls name?" and she replied "Sunshine" BEST NAME EVER!! I nearly cried!

I've had an interesting weekend, I'm so excited to share it with you but it's going to have to wait, there are a lot of photos to be taken to do it justice, it may even be a 2 parter! So you'll have to wait, let's just say Christmas came early for me!

OH!! and I have to announce the winner of the LOVE birds giveaway..........KAZ!

Have a great week everyone xx

Pom Pom

Hello!
I love Saturday mornings, sounds of the '60's, relaxed breakfasts and time for coffee...bliss!

I made this pom pom garland to decorate our spare room, it's really my room, I've pretty much taken over the entire house! dressing room, craft room... If there wasn't enough colour in there already! I used a bag of craft shop pom poms, if I was feeling really crafty I'd make my own pom poms but ain't nobody got time for that!

One in our room......soon they'll be everywhere!!

I'm off to pick up a parcel from the post office and buy a bunch of flowers
Thanks for commenting on my last post I'll pick a winner tomorrow!

Hello!
Today was a good day!
An unexpected early finish from work, a few charity shops, a craving for salt and malt McCoys and a mars bar satisfied, home to discovered the latest copy of Mollie Makes and a parcel for me on the door mat and time to spare for a quick blog before the big lad gets home! I'm very easily pleased!
My second copy of Mollie makes, the big lads Christmas present was a subscription, the present that keeps on giving.

Todays Charity shop find for £1.50
In the parcel, an amazing Chicken picture that I ordered from Andrea McNeill I met her at St Georges market and instantly fell in love with her chicken pictures, Betty, Beryl and Ethel immortalised in thread, I absolutely LOVE IT!!

I have hung chica bonita up beside the other gals with fancy skirts

I had time to put this up too, I bought it at the Market from Eta a neighbouring trader selling gorgeous vintage hats, brooches and trinkets. I've stuck it on our bedroom door :)

Yellow

Hello!
This week I've allowed myself one hour of crafting per evening, then I must go and watch more of The Sopranos. Between work and crafting I haven't had time to scratch myself so this week I'm laying off and will only craft on Monday and Wednesday.
In my vintage fabric stash I've got lots of smaller bits and pieces, so I thought I'd make a patchwork cushion.
Yellow is a colour I associate with Spring, the daffodils in full bloom, I'm looking forward to having a nice big vase of them in our house
And it was all yellow, Floral fabric and yellow sunglasses were finds fromThe Rusty Zip I bought the driving gloves after watching Drive, the retro yellow phone belonged to my Dad's aunty Gertie and uncle Joe and the vintage Sylvac Autumn leaf vase was a thrifty find for only 50p last weekend!

 BRING ON THE SPRING!!

Check out my cousin Lynne in the Sunday Mirror
today!
Have a lovely week everyone xxxx

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue

Hello!
Hope you've all had a great week!

For the last two weeks straight after the market we've gone straight to The Rusty Zip my favourite vintage shop in Belfast. The first week I bought a fab maxi dress £18 purely for the fabric, the dress was too big for me and the puffy sleeves were just too big! But I could see the potential for a very cute dress. I forgot to take a pic of the dress in it's original state....I chopped of the bottom and then headed round to sister Christine with my old dress for a lesson in dress making. I borrowed her machine, learned some handy tips, she showed me how to sew on bias binding and how to pin correctly. I skipped home with my new dress and after a freshen up in the machine, it's as good as new! And there is enough fabric left to make two cushions and lots of scraps for birdies.

The new dress got it's first outing last night!

Have a super dooper weekend everyone!
