Everything on Display

Hello!
Over Christmas I started a display wall in our bedroom, I figured what's the point in having quirky little bits and bobs if they're always hidden away? Some of the things I've pinned have meaning, history or were presents, some are things I've collected, thrifted or made, and others I just think are pretty. The centre piece for the wall, a string of coloured lights, a Christmas present from Bob and other than that I didn't have any particular plan when I was arranging stuff, it's all quite random, although I've grouped heart shaped objects together. I've been adding to the wall, so it will evolve with time, this time next year I'll look back and see how it has changed....at this rate there may be no wall left to see!!
just starting out....

Butterfly lights, battery powered, when lit flicker with fibre optic lights, a present from my da this Christmas.

The two little cherubs were a present from Alison in Lakota's Christmas swap and the Bonheur (Happiness) heart was a  Christmas gift from my friend Caroline

Guatamalan worry dolls, they come in a little bag, and before you go to sleep you tell them your worries in the morning they'll have taken them away, I've stuck mine in an Ikea frame, I hope they'll still work!
Two gorgeous antique spoons, another one of Alisons gifts to me in the swap, they're tiny!
I made this  little matchbox scene as a  present to the big lad for our going out for 10 months anniversairy nearly 13 years ago.....I love ewe

hearts are a theme....

"Beautifully designed and always in the best of taste"

Hello!
These fantastic retro napkins came America, sent from my aunty Irene....
Still in their original packaging, these kitten ones are my favourite, I will take them out for a birthday tea but only for show and no one will be allowed to use them!! 20 for 39c
"Fine quality napkins exquisitely designed for those with a preference for distinctiveness and good taste"
These ones are adorable! I love the colours and the little girl is so cute!
"Party accessories to match the mood of your party and make entertaining a pleasure"
Who would have thought a napkin could do so much! I always fold a bit of kitchen roll in half when I have people over for dinner! I must make more of an effort in future.
These Hanna Barbera design napkins are from 1969, I love the thought of some kid having these at their party.

Thanks Aunty Irene!

Space V Stuff

Hello!
Yesterday the big lad's sister dropped off a pile of Red magazines for me to read. Whilst having a flick through January's issue, the article on page 93 More Space V less stuff? jumped out to me! "The truth dawned on us: we'd spent our lives working to buy things we didn't need"
And so today the Christmas tree came down and a little spring clean ensued and since we swapped a massive Argos chair for a little 1970's one half the size, it seems like we've got so much more space! I could swing a cat! Something about this time of year always inspires me for a clear out, with that in mind my resolution for 2013, remember less is more!

Fresh and clean ready for Two thousand and thirteen

Nurse Mary reporting for duty

Hello! How's the first week of the new going for you? Sticking to the resolutions?
I'm off work today after an eventful afternoon yesterday, took a dizzy spell while working on a ladder, off I fell and the ladder toppled over too. Feeling delicate today so taking it easy, lucky I have nurse Mary on hand to help, taking care of business from the hot press control room. Times such as these call for two things chocolate and pizza....
Nurse Mary

This is our chocolate stash from over Christmas, remote control in one hand, headless chocolate Santa in the other, nom nom nom
I made these kitty shoes as a Christmas present for my buddy Deborah from Life begins at 30, modelled on her cat Della.  I Just took a plain pair of Primark pumps and with some felt and glue made these, I just might have to make myself a pair too, except mine will be white and black of course!

Thankyou for all the kind wishes on my last post about wee Ethel, we've emailed Paul O'Grady ,he mentions dead pets on his Sunday show, so we'll be listening out to see if he reads out Ethel's mention.

Have a super weekend everyone xx
