A change of art and hairdoo

Hello,
How goes it? I'm so far enjoying my week off. In the morning my friend and I had a little photo shoot in the garden, I can't wait to show you her beautiful pictures, then I went for a much needed hair cut. I think the hair cut inspired the changes and I rushed home, with the big lad safely at work I could  happily move stuff around for hours, arranging and rearranging little displays, deciding on the right place for pictures and bits and bobs. We've got so many holes in our walls now! Ahhh!
Love my haircut Thanks Andrew!
Our Living room wall before, it's like a gallery of my own paintings, time for a change....

All my favourite vintage finds and the lovely new nudey gals

One of my favourite paintings. The story behind this painting is funny, but the friend in the painting tragically was knocked down and died. I painted this when I was about 19, inspired after the very strange events of one Sunday afternoon.....those in the know ( you know who you are will never forget this day I'm sure!)

A lovely present from Bob, who is coming home in less than 2 weeks!! Wey Hey!!!
I'm off to England tomorrow for fun times with my family! Yippeee

Enjoy the rest of your week everyone xx

If you've got it flaunt it

Hello!
Picked up these two beautiful vintage ladies baring all, from the Fab Nik Naks, which since our last visit has EVEN more junk/treasures. We hit Nik Naks on the way to the seaside on the hunt for vintage pictures to transform, I came up trumps with these two and the big lad fancied a floral deck chair for summer lounging, I tries my best to do a deal, giving it the old "I'll promote Nik Naks on my blog" blah blah blah but the guy was having none of it!
Nik Naks near Carryduff, tell them I sent you!

I made her a bra, it was getting a  little nippy. Just need to decide where to hang these gals now

Alan Partridge Style Flashback

Hello!
Halloween's just around the corner! EXCITED!! I have elements of my costume organised but they need a bit of work, more on that later in the week....
I thought I'd share one of my all time favorite costumes, here I am or should I say Alan, from his flashback scene. Just a young pup in this photo, 21 years old, phoning our taxi to head out for the Art College Halloween party. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I chose this costume! I'm choosing a much more respectable costume this year, don't want to frighten anyone!
Terrifying!

Good Morning!

It's a good morning because it's the first day of my week off! Time to relax.....
This week I'll be running, day tripping, thrifting and making there may have to be time for a hair cut and later on in the week I'm heading over to my sister in England for fun Halloween times with my niece and nephew. The Halloween costume needs worked on this week as so far I've only got a pair of ears, I'll think of something.
This morning when I was getting the girls up, the sky was the most beautiful peachy pink colour, red sky in the morning Shepard's warning, I'm hoping for cold, crisp sunny days this week. The perfect weather for a bear size portion of porridge....

Happy for the rest of the day : )
Have a fab Saturday everyone xx

Finally....The Abandoned Thirty Day Photo Challenge

Hey ya!
Waaaaay back in June I took up my friend Deborahs 30 day photo challenge, and I've just realised I never posted the pictures! 2nd confession  of the week, the photo challenge got the better of me and I failed to complete it.
Here are some of the photos I did take.....

Day 1 Self Portrait, probably not my best angle.

Day 2 What you wore today, work uniform
Day 3 Clouds

Day 4  Something green, the eroding railings of the local park
Day 5 From a high angle
Day 6 From a low angle
Day 8 Fruit
Day 8 A bad habit, I eat far too fast
Day 9 Someone you love
Day 10 A childhood memory, our Fisher Price record player playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Skip Day 11, Something blue to Day 12 Sunset
Day 13 You with 13 things
Day 14 Eyes
So it seems I got nearly half way through and the wheels came off. I did take a photo on Day 20 though, Bokeh, a blurry photo of one of the girls.
Since doing this challenge I have become slightly addicted to Instagram. I'm blaming Instagram for the failure of this task, I was to busy taking photos of my cat! For a sneaky peak into my daily musings visit my webstagram

Hope you're having a super Saturday xx Lots of Love!

Viva Retro and a confession

Hello!
I have a confession....*hangs head* A day off today and an afternoon of free time on my hands I broke my 8 week no thrifting ban! I'm so sorry! Naaat (not in a Belfast accent)  Cold turkey wasn't for me. Bob's bike came in very handy today, cycling to meet my chum and Martha for coffee at St George's Market, then whizzing round the charity shops of East Belfast. Only problem with biking it round the shops is getting the stuff home, I need a trailer for the bike! I've been working on a couple of new projects, I'll be sharing them with you soon, today I managed to thrift a couple of bits and bobs for these and also some gorgeous fabric, all will be revealed!
I was happy today to discover Viva Retro has reopened on the Newtonards road, a snoopers paradise and full of fab vintage furniture, pictures, pottery, glass ware, records, a potential danger zone for someone like myself. If only we had the space I'd have come home with this boat bar, I could imagine the big lad adorned with sailor hat serving me drinks!

The lovely Tina

Off to make dinner (put pizza in the oven)
Hope your having a super dooper Friday xx

I'm Loving Autumn

Hello!
Autumn is my favourite season, the air, the sun, the trees, the colours, the smells, the tastes....

What I'm not loving is the amount of road kill I'm seeing on my travels this week, 2 foxes, one badger and a couple of unidentifiables. Last night while out for a stroll with the big lad we came face to face with a real fantastic Mr Fox, foxes are class, it had such a bushy tail, half squirrel, half cat. He looked hungry so we popped into a shop and bought him a packet of Buffalo Hunky Dorys but he'd disappeared when we came out. Please be careful when you're driving and look out for woodland friends when they're trying to cross the road!
I love this fantastic little fox made by Emma over at Oooh Betty

It's only 76 days until Christmas! Crazy!! Pop over to Lakota's Faith Hope and Charity Shopping Christmas swap I've signed up and I'm already excited about who I'm going to get to give my present to! Any excuse to go Charity shopping, you know me...

Hope you're having a lovely week xx

The Fab Four

Hello!
I've figured out why I've spent so many years procrastinating about making, sewing and crafting, I never had any material to make anything out of, that is of course until recently. Now it's a different story, I'm building up quite a stash of fabric and creating my little heart out. Four Fab new vintage fabrics waiting to be transformed....

I've been putting my sewing skills to the test recently, after making  dresses for Martha, my buddies little girl, I decided to make some more to sell at the fairs I've been doing. My sister gave me a cute vintage pattern for a tunic style dress her friend Christine came up with the name, Wee Home Wrecker, perfect!
Here's a couple of the dresses I've made, I can't wait to make some more now I've got lovely new fabric and I think it's about time Martha got a new dress!

Or  maybe some cushions?
And heres to another Fab Four, celebrating the birth of the Beatles 50 years after the release of Love Me Do

Hope you're having a lovely weekend xx
