Now I don't know much about cars but I do know this...they sure don't make them like they used to! Driving through Dungiven today, I had to stop and take some pics of these vintage cars....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! I can imagine me and the big lad cruising around Belfast in one of these listening to the 13th Floor Elevators...well a girl can dream.

Mary-the deluxe version
HELP!!! We need a home! Three adorable kittens! One of them was too shy to have it's photo taken. I only called into the vets today to buy Mary her special food but ended up staying half an hour playing with them! The mainly white kitten was so friendly, it's a mini Mary lookalike...of course I really wanted to take it home but I'm not sure if the princess would approve...SO if you or anyone you know would be able to give a loving home to any of these cuties contact City Vets ASAP http://www.belfastcityvets.co.uk/

Tomato Watch update
Green, yellow, red....YEAH!! the first of my tomatoes are ripening! can't wait to eat them! I'm blaming the weather and lack of a greenhouse for their size, they're SO small! After one salad they'll all be eaten. I'm putting a greenhouse on the garden wish list.

Feline fine
To quote Britney Spears "Oops I did it again" I've rehomed this elegant kitty, bought from the Re-store charity shop in Connswater for £2. That's two cat ornaments now! my collection is growing, much to Gavin's horror, his reaction to this lastest addition "NO MORE TAT !" Sorry...... It's an addiction : (

The Wall
Decided to be daring and cover a wall in our living room with images from 50's and 60's film posters. I've had these images since our last house where they were bluetacked onto the fireplace wall but i wanted to do something different with them, this time it's a bit more permanent (stuck on with pva glue) so hopefully we won't get bored of this look too soon. The finished wall makes the room feel much cosier and adds lots of colour so i'm happy with that : )
The naked wall, too white, too bare......
The feature wall. Film posters from the 50's and 60's. Rip it up goes large! |
Next thing on the list is to actually watch some of these films, Attack of the 50ft Woman sounds like a good one to start with. |

Thankyou Mother Nature
Blackberry picking today at Helen's Bay. Free fruit what more could you ask for?
Late August, given heavy rain and sun For a full week, the blackberries would ripen. At first, just one, a glossy purple clot Among others, red, green, hard as a knot. You ate that first one and its flesh was sweet Like thickened wine: summer's blood was in it Leaving stains upon the tongue and lust for Picking. Then red ones inked up and that hunger Sent us out with milk cans, pea tins, jam-pots Where briars scratched and wet grass bleached our boots. Round hayfields, cornfields and potato-drills We trekked and picked until the cans were full, Until the tinkling bottom had been covered With green ones, and on top big dark blobs burned Like a plate of eyes. Our hands were peppered With thorn pricks, our palms sticky as Bluebeard's. We hoarded the fresh berries in the byre. But when the bath was filled we found a fur, A rat-grey fungus, glutting on our cache. The juice was stinking too. Once off the bush The fruit fermented, the sweet flesh would turn sour. I always felt like crying. It wasn't fair That all the lovely canfuls smelt of rot. Each year I hoped they'd keep, knew they would not.
